My son spent his entire academic career at Pineywood Community Academy in Lufkin, Texas. He is nothing short of a huge success story for the school.
He is busy at Texas Tech these days planning his bright future, and I owe that to the teachers and administrators at PCA. It's not lost on me the hard work that teachers put in because growing up my mother was a teacher, and I saw it firsthand.
According to the Lufkin Daily News, the PCA board has unanimously approved going to a 4-day school week for the 2023-2024 school year. In doing so they became the first school in all of Angelina County to go this route.
PCA Board Adopts 4-Day School Week To Attract More Teachers
Being the only school in the area to go to a 4-day week, the charter school should have no trouble attracting new teachers to replace those that are retiring and resigning.
This measure also has strong support among the current teachers at PCA. The changes come just as the new Pineywoods Community Academy High School has been completed.
Things are really coming together for PCA, and it's amazing to see their growth over the past 10 years. Would you be more likely or less likely to enroll your child in PCA now? Let us know by commenting on our app.
