Pusha-T Slams Drake for Being Silent on Black Issues Following Blackface Explanation

On Wednesday night (May 30), Drake responded to a photo of him in blackface that was used by Pusha-T for his "The Story of Adidon" cover. According to Drizzy's explanation, the photo was meant to highlight the struggle of Black actors, but Pusha-T isn't buying it.

Appearing on Big Boy's Neighborhood on 92.3 on Thursday morning (May 31), the Daytona rapper slammed Drake for being silent on Black issues and said Drizzy's explanation doesn't change his view. “That doesn’t change my view at all... You are silent on all black issues, Drake," Push said according to E! News.

"You don’t stand for nothing, you don’t say nothing about nothing,” Pusha added. “You have all the platform in the world. You were so passionate back then? No you weren’t. That’s number one. That’s what I know.”

The photo in question was shot by photographer David Leyes and appeared on the photographer's website until it was removed on Wednesday. "Please stop referring to this picture as 'artwork'...I'm not an internet baby, I don't edit images...this is a REAL picture...these are his truths, see for yourself," Pusha tweeted on Tuesday (May 29), along with a link to Leyes' site.

In his explanation, Drake says the photo is from 2007 when he was still an actor. The rapper claims the photos were meant to represent how African-Americans "were once wrongfully portrayed in entertainment." He added, "This was to highlight and raise our frustrations with not always getting a fair chance in the industry and to make a point that the struggle for black actors had not changed much."

While hip-hop fans continue to wait for a response track from Drake, Pusha says he's ready to continue the feud. "I’m ready for everything that comes with it. Everything," he said. "And we gonna deal in truths... My truth was questioned, and I’m gonna deal in truths all summer long."
