The theme of the Kurth Memorial Library's Family Summer Reading Program for 2021 is Tails and Tales. What a great theme. Comparing the tails in literature to the tail of a fish. This leads to some very exciting things June 8th - August 6th.

Registration is going on right now. It started just a few days ago on May 17th, so you haven't missed anything yet.

I am really glad to see the Kurth Memorial Library providing bagged "Grab & Go" meals during these events. Many children in our area rely on school lunches for most of their nutritional needs. They will have these available Monday - Friday. Offering these food and nutrition solutions is a great idea.

Once a week they will be doing story time & crafts in the park. There will be daily "make and take' crafts. Friday's will be "Let's Get Messy!" in the library parking lot, so dress accordingly. Story walk boards will be available in some of the Lufkin Parks.

There will be weekly special virtual events with Dinosaur George, Didgeridoo Down Under, and a reading of "Wild Home" by Deanna Weeks Prunes.
