Shocking News – Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes Split, Adele Announces Pregnancy

I got back from lunch today and in a matter of minutes, my computer was blowing up with some crazy, shocking, slightly unexpected celebrity news.

First, singer/songwriter Adele, who's known for her emotional, depressing songs about a breakup, just announced on her website that she and her boyfriend, Simon Konecki, are pregnant!

Adele took to her official website to write:

“I’m delighted to announce that Simon [Konecki] and I are expecting our first child together. I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we’re over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time. Yours always, Adele xx”

The couple was first spotted together in January 2012, but the Huffington Post reports that they have been together since last summer.

Congratulations Adele! We couldn't be happier for you! (Maybe her next album will be full of positive, fun and lovey-dovey love songs?!)

In other news, actors Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise have announced that they're getting a divorce after five years of marriage. The odd couple, made headlines when they got engaged on the Eiffel Tower after a few short months of dating (you may remember the couch stunt on Oprah?) The couple have a daughter together, the fashionista 6-year-old Suri Cruise.

Fox News Channel published this statement from Holmes' attorney Jonathan Wolfe:

"This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family," Holmes' attorney Jonathan Wolfe said. "Katie's primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter's best interest."
