Since the death of XXXTentacion on June 18, artists close to the rapper have been finding new ways to pay tribute to him. On Sunday night (June 24) at the 2018 BET Awards, Ski Mask The Slump God honored X by wearing a black and white mask similar to the one X wore at the 2017 BET Hip Hop Awards.

In photos posted on Instagram on June 24 by rapper Ill Chris, Ski Mask can be seen sporting the black and white skull mask as he poses for photos. "To watch my dog about to take on this moment for his fallen one on the @bet stage this is legendary in its self," Ill Chris wrote in the caption. "I’m proud to say I got to help style and back up a factor."

Ski Mask was also in the crowd when the awards show paid tribute to XXXTentacion with an in memoriam video. "Hell yeah," the 2018 XXL Freshman could be heard saying as a picture of X flashed on the screen.

Along with his tribute to X at the 2018 BET Awards, Ski Mask also recently teamed up with Ill Chris for the three-song EP, Bury All Defeated. Released in April, the project features a guest appearance from Robb Banks, as well as production from Getter and AnvilOffical.

XXXTentacion was shot and killed on June 18 in Deerfield Beach, Fla. after leaving RIVA Motorsports. Following his death, police arrested Dedrick D. Williams and charged the 22-year-old with first-degree murder.

Following his arrest, the arrest warrant revealed new information about the case, including a timeline leading up to the rapper's death. Authorities have also issued two other arrest warrants for suspects, although no other arrests have been made yet.
