Strong Thunderstorms Hit Lufkin And Nacogdoches

Pop up storms in Lufkin this afternoon originated and gained momentum in Nacogdoches. This one basically came up out of nowhere and dropped visibility in minutes. Tropical rainfall amounts are being registered quickly. Really seemed like a tornado, and I am hearing limbs breaking.  Stay inside if you can. It all started getting dark about 3:40pm in downtown Lufkin, July 30th 2019.

UPDATE: As Lufkin residents leave work, please be cautious on area roadways.Traffic lights at various locations on Timberland and Frank are flashing due to power outages. The underpass at Tulane is shut down due to so much water in a short time.
