(Explicit language in videos) Scattered storms dotted the East Texas map on Saturday afternoon and evening. Most of those storms provided brief heavy downpours and quite a few lightning strikes, however, a cell that moved through Polk County produced a short-lived tornado.
Severe storms raced across a number of Deep East Texas counties Wednesday evening. Over the course of the night, severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings were issued for Cherokee, Nacogdoches, Shelby, and Panola counties.
Hopefully, the scene from above won't be something that we see around Deep East Texas throughout the day and evening on Tuesday, but severe storms are expected, especially in those areas just south of Lufkin and extending towards Houston and Beaumont.
