XXXTentacion’s ‘?’ and ‘17’ Albums Climb to Billboard 200 Top 5

XXXTentacion is continuing to make his mark in the music industry following his death. The rapper’s ? and 17 albums both climbed the Billboard 200 during the second week after his death, according to the latest Billboard chart data released on Sunday (June 1).

The slain rapper's ? sits at No. 2 on the chart, while 17 reached No. 5.

The news follows a string of posthumous achievements for X, who was fatally shot outside a motorsports dealership in South Florida on June 18. In the first week after the shooting, the rhymer’s track "Sad!"—which received a chilling new video last week—surged to No. 1 on the Hot 100, scoring a Spotify single-day streaming record along the way, and becoming the first posthumous chart-topper since The Notorious B.I.G with “Mo Money Mo Problems” in 1997. In addition, his 2017 mixtape, Revenge, also made its Billboard 200 debut last week at No. 30. On June 26, ? was certified gold.

Elsewhere on the Billboard 200 chart this week, Post Malone's Beerbongs & Bentleys (No. 3), Beyoncé and Jay-Z's Everything Is Love (No. 4), Juice WRLD's Goodbye & Good Riddance (No. 8) and Cardi B's Invasion of Privacy (No. 9) helped round out this week's top 10.

Following his passing, XXX, born Jahseh Onfroy, was laid to rest on Thursday (June 28) in a granite mausoleum at a cemetery in Florida. His family held a private funeral after hosting a public open-casket viewing attended by thousands of fans and friends, including Lil Uzi Vert, PnB Rock and Ugly God. Uzi has also pledged to launch a foundation supporting the rapper's family.

As for the case of his death, authorities continue to pursue the investigation into XXX's alleged murder. Police identified a person of interest last week and enlisted the U.S. Marshals to help in their search. The first suspect charged in connection to the shooting has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder.
