'Captain Planet and the Planeteers' was a mildly popular, environmentally-friendly cartoon that ran from 1990 through 1996. And like so many childhood favorites it is being shopped around as a possible new movie franchise. Sony has taken the bait, and are working on turning the cartoon into a feature length film.

We have another comedy/action pairing of flicks hitting theaters this weekend. The first is a reunion of sorts between the director and co-star of the summer 2011 hit 'Bridesmaids,' and the second should sound oddly familiar to anyone who caught 'Olympus Has Fallen' back in March.

Zombies may be really hot right now, but there's one thing that is (and probably always will be) a bigger deal: Pixar. Brad Pitt's 'World War Z' performed quite well in its opening weekend, but even the biggest zombie movie of all time couldn't keep pace with 'Monsters University.'

After months of feverish anticipation and a marketing campaign that left everyone at ScreenCrush practically speechless, 'Man of Steel' has arrived (amidst a flurry of mixed reviews) and taken its place at the top of the box office chart. Although the latest Superman film broke June box office records, it's yet to be seen whether or not the film is truly prepared for the long road ahead.

What looked like one of the big box office showdowns of the summer turned out to not be battle at all. Not only did 'Fast and Furious 6' take the number one spot at the box office, it did it while shattering records, leaving 'The Hangover Part 3' coughing on its exhaust.

The 2013 MTV Movie Awards winners, though by no means as hyped as, say, the 2013 Oscars, are a fun affair nonetheless. Most of the awards, with exceptions to the "specialty" categories, are voted on by the fans, which means many of the titles that got snubbed during awards season now have another chance for the recognition many believe they deserve.

After a series of increasingly dire weeks at the box office, 'Oz the Great and Powerful' arrived and shook things up in a major way, earning the first truly massive opening weekend of 2013 and setting the table for all kinds of Oz-related content in the near future. Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing is something that we'll let you judge.

It's Thanksgiving week, and we're thankful for all the new movies hitting theaters in the next few days. There's plenty of family adventure, action and drama coming to the big screen, with new releases hitting on Wednesday and Friday.

Haven't we taken 'Taken' far enough? This week it was announced that there'd most likely be a third movie in the series. The gang at 'Saturday Night Live' seem to be of the opinion that the movie's premise — a retired C.I.A. agent pursuing his kidnapped family members — has already been stretched past its breaking point.  The result? Warner Bros. made a couple of big announcements today -- first, they're releasing the largest Blu-ray/DVD collection ever with a 100 DVD/50 Blu-ray "Best Films from Warner Bros." set. But the bigger news is that they're also converting 'The Wizard of Oz' to 3D because it was bound to happen eventually.

Someone has too much time on their hands but I'm glad they did because this rocks! According to the description it took clips from 295 movies to create this version of Sir Mix-A-Lot's Baby Got Back. You've gotta check this out... It's 3 minutes of pure genius!
