Angelina County GOP Serving Free Meals to Evacuees on Saturday

As you have probably noticed by the massive increase in traffic over the past day or two, quite a number of folks who evacuated from southeast Texas ahead of Hurricane Laura are returning home.  Still, there are some evacuees from Louisiana that may be in our area a little while longer.

On Saturday(8/29), the Angelina County Republican Party and the affiliated College Republicans will be providing free grilled chicken meals for evacuees who are staying in our area, or for evacuees who may be traveling back home on Saturday.  This "Americans helping Americans in need' event will be held from from noon until 5 pm at the Republican Headquarters next to Ashley Furniture and in front of Harbor Freight on the South Loop in Lufkin.

There will also be a Patriotic American Parade Rally of cars and trucks around Loop 287 beginning at noon.  The rally will leaves the headquarters and return around 1 pm.  Meals will also be served to those who participate in the rally.  Everyone is encourage to fly an American flag, and those will be available for pick up if you don't have one.

Those who participate in the rally are invited to help serve the evacuee guests during this event.  All food that is cooked and left over will be given to the Salvation Army for their feeding program.
