A Crockett woman has been re-arrested after a toxicology report recently came back. Kimberlee Ann Sherman, 35, was originally arrested for delivery of a controlled substance on May 22, 2025.

At the time, it was thought that she sold a man the drugs that led to an overdose on May 21, 2025. According to KTRE, Houston County EMS and the Crockett Police Department both responded to a report of an unresponsive person that day.

When they arrived on the scene, Cameron Larue, 36, had already died. Blue pills found beside the body resembled Oxycodone or Percocet.

She had told officers that they were Percocet. Officers began an investigation and stated early on that they suspected the pills were counterfeit and likely contained Fentanyl.

The investigation led to someone telling officers they had spoken to the victim, and he said he was buying the drugs from Sherman. Officers arrested her, and she posted a $25,000 bond the next day and was released.

Pills And Post Mortem Bring Damning Evidence

The pills were sent off to the Texas Department of Public Safety's crime lab, where they were found to contain Fentanyl. A new 2023 Texas law would elevate Sheman's crime to a first-degree felony murder charge if the victim's autopsy or toxicology report found Fentanyl in their system and they prove the person died as a result.

That is exactly why she was rearrested today. The autopsy results were back and showed that he died as a result of a Fentanyl overdose.
