Do Dat BBQ “As You Know It” Cancelled, Virtual Do Dat Coming Soon

You may remember a post that I wrote last month about the Do Dat BBQ competition in Nacogdoches still being planned for by May 2nd. If you don't remember, you can read up on that by clicking the link below:

Well, earlier this week, the announcement was made via the Do Dat BBQ Facebook page that the competition was cancelled. This was the announcement from Facebook:

It's a tough pill to swallow, knowing that Do Dat won't be happening this year...except, there will be something happening with it this year. You caught that little phrase that was inserted in there, right? The phrase "as you know it". That just means that it's not going to be the traditional competition that they've had in the past.

I was pretty pumped to see that a virtual Do Dat BBQ is in the works! I'm not sure how that's going to work exactly, but I'm pretty intrigued to see how the guys will spin this one.

However they decide to make it happen, I'll be sure to keep you posted on here, because I'm just as excited as the Do Dat team is to see how it turns out. It won't be the same, but it's still a good feeling to know that we will still have a Do Dat BBQ competition this year!
