It has been a steamy hot, wet, and wild summer, and soon it will be time to cool it down at Family Day at the Texas Forestry Museum. The event is free and open to the public.

Chill out with fun activities like a waterslide, popsicles, a craft, and games. The events are designed to make us think cooler thoughts in the heat of the summer.

Take part at the Texas Forestry Museum at 1905 Atkinson Drive in Lufkin from 10:30 AM - Noon on Saturday, August 10, 2024. This event will be held on the same day as Timber, the museum mascot's birthday.

Kids Can Meet Museum Mascot Timber And Smokey Bear At Family Day

That means there will be cake, games, crafts, and a bouncy house to celebrate. Timber has invited his friend Texas A&M Forest Service's mascot Smokey Bear to celebrate.

Meet Smokey Bear as he makes a special appearance to help Timber celebrate. This event is free thanks to museum sponsors Davis Insurance, A Higginbotham Company and HEB.

Bring the kids with their towels to join in on all the fun that day at the Texas Forestry Museum.  This is a come-and-go, outdoor, socially distanced event where families can enjoy the museum's backyard.
