Continuous thunderstorms are causing issues throughout Deep East Texas. In Lufkin, there were several flooded streets.

According to the City of Lufkin Communications Director Jessica Pebsworth as of 7:44 AM the following streets were flooded.

  • Frank Avenue
  • Ellis at Raguet near Pineywoods Community Academy
  • Johnson Avenue
  • Pershing Avenue Bridge near Chambers Park

I drove through most of those areas at 9:30 AM, and crews from the City of Lufkin were on site, likely clearing drains. At that time there was no water on Pershing near Chambers Park, but there are still reports of standing water on Frank Ave near CHI St. Luke's Hospital.
