Free Human Trafficking Awareness Month Event In Lufkin, Texas
The month of January is national slavery and human trafficking awareness month. The Family Crisis Center of East Texas is putting together an event to highlight the impacts on our area due to human trafficking.
To make that happen they have invited us all to their Human Trafficking Awareness Month event in Lufkin tomorrow (Tuesday, January 11th) at noon in Louis Bronaugh Park.
This will be a free awareness event to commemorate the month and educate our community about the incidences of human trafficking in our area. Join their staff at the park located at 310 Charlton Street for insight and information about human trafficking and its impact on people in our community.
What Does Human Trafficking Look Like In Our Community?
Human trafficking is a crime where people are forced and/or coerced to make them perform services or commercial sex. It truly affects everyone and this event is a visual way to bring awareness.
This event is in addition to all the great things they do for survivors of family violence. This expands on their confidential services for women, children, and men who witness or experience sexual violence.
All of these services are freely given at no charge to the clients. If you know someone that could benefit from their services right now they have a hotline and text line that is staffed 24/7 by trained staff. Call 1-800-828-SAFE (7233 or text 936-552-9256.
Free Lunch Will Be Provided In Lufkin Tomorrow
