What can you say about this college town bar that hasn't already been said? With a long and tumultuous 25+ years in operation under many different names, Frogs has slowly slipped back into the pond.

For years Bullfrogs was the restaurant/sports bar and the Annex was the name of the adjoining club. I am sure it was something before that in Nacogdoches.

More recent visitors might know it as Frogs and the Lumberyard. Bars change names all the time to rebrand and modernize.

We All Went To Party At The Annex

I have foggy memories of hosting karaoke night at Bullfrogs and DJ'ing at the Annex next door. We also did live radio remote broadcasts from "Teen Night" at the Annex/Lumberyard.

Ricky Miller was the owner and manager and always treated us fairly. I always had a great time. The building along with the pool outside was a beacon for SFA students right across the street.

At The End, They Were Selling Crawfish

Frogs was still hopping in 2023. They came out of the pandemic selling seafood at the sports bar. Ricky was still there keeping things afloat until recently, but has now moved on to his next venture.

He is now an owner and General Manager of Clawdaddy's Market at 3322 Center RD, in Nacogdoches. Though crawfish season is coming to an end this month, they are still pumping out Louisiana-style seafood and more.

They had a good run for their first crawfish season.
