I have followed the journey of Keto Couple's Kitchen since they were at the Angelina County Farmers Market. At the start of 2021, they spread their wings and moved into their own brick-and-mortar building.

Their latest location was 1107 South Timberland Drive in Lufkin, right across from McDonald's. The head chef, Jimmy, and the rest of the staff were helping people stay on a ketogenic diet, while not missing out on treats they loved.

They sold low-carb pizza crust, bread, bagels, and tons of sugar-free treats, like their famous chocolate chip cookie sandwiches and cowboy cookies. An entire list of keto treats was available.

On February 2, 2023 the Keto Couple's Kitchen went on Facebook Live and let their customers know that they would be closing down their bakery. It was bittersweet when the last batch of cookies came out of the oven.

Owner Tammy and chef Jimmy have pivoted, stating that they will be offering some of their staple desserts for pre-order soon. You can follow them on facebook to keep up with their progress.

They have also been focusing on coaching people one on one and in groups. The couple is now working on a cookbook.

Is the Keto Diet Still Popular In Texas?

The keto diet has been around for a long time, but has recently been losing popularity. According to feastgood.com online searches for the diet are down 87 percent since a peak in 2019.

This restrictive diet can be difficult to stay on, and that might have led to the decline. I think they just needed a place like Keto Couple's Kitchen to help keep them on track.
