The annual VFW Fall Carnival gets underway Thursday, September 4, and continues through Sunday, September 7, at the Lufkin VFW Post 1836 on Ford Chapel Road.

The Heart of America Shows always brings in one of the best carnival experiences to the Pineywoods.

In addition to numerous state-of-the-art rides for all ages, there will be live music from local artists, plenty of vendors featuring food, arts & crafts, and more, plus Saturday live wrestling with Warrior Wrestling Association will be featured inside the VFW Post.

Rides For All Ages Will Be Featured

Some of the most popular rides include the Jungle Twist roller coaster, Kamikaze, Gravitron, Tsunami, and the massive OMG.

There will be something to ride for all ages, like the Gator Roller Coaster and the Merry-Go-Round, inside the mini park for the little ones. As always, there will be free parking and free admission onto the grounds.

Six Flags Over Texas Mourns The Loss Of Former Favorite Park Rides

Six Flags Over Texas wrapped up a huge celebration in August as it celebrated its 60th anniversary. During the 60 year history of Six Flags, there has been a handful of memorable rides, attractions and shows that have had to be retired and removed from the park for various different reasons. Here's a look back at them as they were displayed for the parks' 'Fright Fest' event.
