Nacogdoches County Felony Arrests July 5 – July 11

When looking at the arrests in Nacogdoches County, I am always interested in where the felons are from. Some counties don't put their address online, but Nacogdoches County does.

You can view the full address or homeless status of any inmate featured on nac-sheriff.com, but I don't include all that information. I recently started adding the town to the gallery below because I was surprised to find that many people committing crimes in Nacogdoches County are from nearby cities, towns, and states.

Highway 59/I-69 is a big corridor for all traffic heading north, and I have noted people arrested from Canada and US states as far away as Illinois.

The following cities are represented among the 14 people arrested this past week:

1. Nacogdoches - 4

2. Chireno

3. Homeless

4. Crowley, Louisiana

5. Crystal Beach

6. Lufkin

7. Houston - 2

8. Pollok

9. Diboll

10. Shelbyville

It was interesting to see so many of our local cities represented. Having someone arrested here from Crystal Beach had to be amazingly rare. There are only about 3,000 residents there.

Unhoused Man Committed The Worst Crimes In Nacogdoches County This Week

When you see someone smiling in an arrest photo, they are usually young or having a mental health crisis. Both could be true for Mathew Shane Rodgers, 21.

If they are smiling, the people arrested might think they were arrested for no reason, for something they did not do, or may not comprehend the charges.

The crimes against Rodgers are pretty serious, so he must know something we don't. Felony One, aggravated assault with a weapon against someone you are related to in some way, doesn't seem like anything to smile about.
