The past few years, the Stephen F. Austin State University name has been getting out and about more prominently. We've seen new marketing campaigns all over the state, the athletics program has been turning heads in all kinds of ways, and - something that I think has been pretty awesome - they've had SFA Ballpark Days at some of the professional baseball games.

And that last one is coming back this summer. In July, there will be SFA Ballpark Days at both the Texas Rangers homefield as well as the Houston Astros homefield. The SFA logo will be prominently featured all over the fields and the SFA attendees get some custom swag.

SFA Ballpark Days with the Texas Rangers

The first SFA Ballpark Day will take place on July 11th at Globe Life Field in Arlington, home of the Texas Rangers. The Rangers will actually be playing against the Houston Astros that evening at 6:05.

If you order your tickets through the SFA Alumni Association page, attendees will receive a custom Texas Rangers cap in SFA colors. There are only a limited number of tickets available - 1,250 to be exact - that will allow you to get the custom SFA gear, so you probably don't want to wait to order tickets.

SFA Ballpark Days with the Houston Astros

The second and final SFA Ballpark Day will take place on July 18th at Daikin Park in Houston, home of the Houston Astros. The Astros will be hosting the Baltimore Orioles for the game that day, and it starts at 3:10 that afternoon.

Just like the other ballpark day, if you order through the SFA Alumni Association, you'll receive a custom cap, only it's an Astros cap in SFA colors. There are only 1,250 tickets available for that game as well.

Like I said, this is a pretty awesome event for SFA. If you like baseball and you like SFA, this is a definite event to look into. Axe 'em, Jacks!
