East Texas Has Its Very Own Silent Book Club Chapter
I don't do it as much as I probably should, but I'm one of those people that enjoys reading. I do enjoy getting into a really good book - a real book with paper pages, none of the e-books. Lots of people say that books are being phased out. However, there's actually a book club in Lufkin that meets regularly, but it's in a rather interesting way.
Silent Book Club East Texas
There is such a thing as a Silent Book Club, and there's an East Texas chapter based out of Lufkin. They've even got their own Facebook page and everything. This group meets once a month - the last Thursday of the month - and they socialize, read and connect over books.

Their Facebook page even lays out what their monthly meetings look like:
- 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM - Connect and order food and/or drinks
- 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM - Read silently together
- 7:00 PM - 7:30 PM - Socialize, discuss books, or keep reading
And that's it. It's just a time for people that enjoy reading to get together with other people that enjoy the same thing, on a monthly basis.
Next Silent Book Club East Texas Meeting - October 29th
According to a recurring Facebook event page from the group, the Silent Book Club October meeting will be held at Herradura's Mexican Fire and Grill in Lufkin on Thursday, October 29th. It will kick off at 5:30 PM, and follow the exact same schedule that I mentioned above.
