(KMDL-FM) If there is one constant in the world of retail, it would be change. Retailers, large and small, have to constantly be changing in order to keep up with consumer tastes, inflation, and competition. It's safe to say one of the most consistent companies when it comes to managing change is Walmart. And that major retailer has just revealed plans for a significant change in what you see in the stores.

Walmart recently made changes in the way you see prices on its store shelves. This also allows for an inventory control specialist to monitor and maintain store supplies of certain items. And it also allows for speedy price changes.

Walmart's New Electronic Price Tags - Are They Allowed to Do That?

Some customers voiced fears that the electronic price tags could be manipulated in such a way that Walmart could raise the price of an item from the time you picked it up off the shelf to the time you actually paid for it. Do Consumers Really Save Money Purchasing Private Brands or Store Brands?

It is estimated that a family wishing to monopolize their savings and earn even more value for their shopping dollar could save about 35% if they were to exclusively shop and use the Great Value brand products. The products also get great reviews for quality, so they are worth looking into.

And beginning in May, Great Value brand products will be easier to find as Walmart has announced a huge packaging "refresh" for the brand. The first of the almost 10,000 Great Value items to get a new look will be salty snacks. Then other products will follow.

The reason for the rebrand refresh is visibility. The new packaging will be more eye-catching to consumers on store shelves. This will make products easier to find for shoppers and associates. The redesign of the packaging should also freshen up the look of the brand, making it more appealing for today's tech-savvy consumer.

You might already notice some changes in the packaging at your hometown Walmart, but if you haven't, don't worry, they'll be happening throughout the rest of the year and into next year. It's going to take a little time to change the look of nearly 10,000 products.
