City Of Lufkin Christmas Parade Will Be On A Saturday This Year
- Monday parades are over
- Same day as Nacogdoches Parade
- Lighted tradition will continue
Looking back the City of Lufkin Christmas Parade was held on the first Monday of December for over a decade. Now Visit Lufkin has pivoted and moved the Christmas Parade to the first Saturday in December on the 2nd at 5:30 PM.
The theme for this year will be Toyland Christmas, and we will know more soon when registration for the parade begins on October 23, 2023.
With the move, the City of Lufkin Lighted Christmas Parade will surely become a bigger part of the Christmas in the Pines celebration and add to all of the events going on in downtown Lufkin that day.
Ice Skating in the Pines, Rudolph, The Festival of Trees, The 1K & 5K Reindeer Run, Christmas In The Pines, and the Lighted Christmas Parade can now all be a part of one cohesive event that day.
Those who also like to attend the Nacogdoches Nine Flags Christmas Festival will have to choose this year. Both parades will be happening on the same date and time.
You could still attend the Lighting of Rudolph the Friday before at 5:30 PM in downtown Lufkin.
Ice Skating In The Pines Is Back For 2023
Ice Skating in the Pines will be from November 29th - January 1st for 2023 and was a huge success last year. I assume things will be run much the same this year at the Pitser Garrison Convention Center.
Last year there were a lot of firsts when it came to holiday celebrations in Lufkin. This year things are already coming together to make our holiday season merry and bright in Lufkin.
