Thousands of Eggs: Lufkin’s Free Family Easter Fun
The City of Lufkin Parks and Recreation's 22nd Annual Eggstravaganza is coming soon to Morris Frank Park at 513 Windsor Drive in Lufkin. The free family Easter Egg Hunt will be held on the new multipurpose turf fields for the hunt from 10 AM to 2 PM on Saturday, April 19, 2025.
According to the Lufkin Daily News, there will be 14 thousand eggs, a jump from last year's 10,000. The event is open to all children ages 0-12.
There were over 3,000 people in attendance for the 2024 event, and now, with more eggs, will come more hunters. There will be much more than the Easter Egg hunts to keep you and the kids entertained.
Easter Will Be Filled With Kite Flying, Fun Inflatables, and Bubbles
This year, they are adding a few more events to the already full roster that goes on at the annual egg hunt. There will be kite flying, bubbles, prizes, and a kids zone with inflatables.

A free hot dog and sausage lunch will be provided to everyone in attendance by Pilgrims. It will be served from 11 AM to 2 PM after the hunts. Kids will enjoy the photobooth and free pictures with the Easter Bunny.
There is a 15-egg limit per child during the hunt to ensure everyone gets a fair chance to get the eggs. It's more of a scramble than a hunt when you have hundreds of children hunting all at once, but they do great things to keep it organized.
