People are creatures of habit, especially in Lufkin. You might have had the same trash day for years, but that is about to change.

The City of Lufkin will be modifying the schedule for four of its residential waste routes starting January 10th, 2022. With these changes your trash day could be moving to Wednesday.

Four routes in all will be changing to this new trash day. The last time we had a change was in 2020 when the City of Lufkin did away with its curbside recycling plan. This transition might be a little easier.

Will My Trash Day Change?

Let's go over the zones to figure out if this even applies to you. There are four routes that will be affected.

Why Did The City Of Lufkin Change My Trash Day?

We used to get woken up by the trash truck when I was a kid. Now it is well into the afternoon when our trash gets picked up.

This change will make the routes more efficient and we will all benefit from earlier pickup times.
