Nacogdoches ISD received a threat through the social media app Snapchat directed at the Nacogdoches High School. They take every threat seriously and have started an internal investigation.

Nacogdoches ISD would like the parents and community to know that they are aware of the threat. The Snapchat post is being investigated by campus staff and Nacogdoches ISD Police.

While the investigation was ongoing, the Nacogdoches High School campus was put on "hold"  This means that classes continued as normal, but access to the school was limited.

Nacogdoches High School returned to its regular schedule during fourth period today February 21st, 2022. The district continues to look into the threat on social media but says there is no threat at the school.

Social Media Threats Nothing New For Nacogdoches High School

Almost this exact, same scenario played out on campus on October 25th, 2021. There was a threat made to Nacogdoches High School via Snapchat. That post was also immediately investigated by campus personnel and Nacogdoches ISD Police.

The threat included a weapon on campus and was found to be a hoax. No one was harmed and they found it was not intended as a real threat.

Once the investigation was done, and the threat was determined to not be credible, the individual responsible was identified quickly. They faced disciplinary consequences at that time and this doesn't seem to be a related issue.
