School Cancellations/Delays and Road Closures
Heavy rain across Texas and Louisiana is creating major issues in travel. Interstate 20 between Minden and Shreveport has been a nightmare for motorists thanks to major flooding around the Dorcheat Bayou area. Numerous water rescues have been taking place there.
Closer to home, a number of roads are impassable or very dangerous to cross thanks to high water or damage from the floods. Here's a partial list of some those problem areas.
- FM 353, near the San Augustine County line, is closed after water caused it to sink 10 inches overnight (pictured above)
- Water is over FM2262 in the Trevat community and FM 1280, both in Trinity County
- FM 58 in Angelina County is now under water near the intersection of FM 1818
