School Cancellations/Delays and Road Closures

Heavy rain across Texas and Louisiana is creating major issues in travel. Interstate 20 between Minden and Shreveport has been a nightmare for motorists thanks to major flooding around the Dorcheat Bayou area. Numerous water rescues have been taking place there.

Closer to home, a number of roads are impassable or very dangerous to cross thanks to high water or damage from the floods. Here's a partial list of some those problem areas.

FM 353, near the San Augustine County line, is closed after water caused it to sink 10 inches overnight (pictured above)
Water is over FM2262 in the Trevat community and FM 1280, both in Trinity County
FM 58 in Angelina County is now under water near the intersection of FM 1818
Polk County is reporting flooded roadways at FM 352, FM 1276 and FM 942, and trees are down on FM 943 and SH 146
High water is reported over FM 1818 and on FM 324. Water over FM 2497 continues to rise
