Man Tased After Viewing “Sound Of Freedom” In Lufkin, Texas

According to the Lufkin Police Department Micha Kibler, 39, of Woodville, Texas was at the Cinemark movie theater located at 100 Miles Way in Lufkin, Texas on Saturday, July 15, 2023.
Kibler is a local handyman and according to his Facebook page was going to watch the Sound of Freedom movie. Details of the events that unfolded after that are provided by LPD.
Two officers that were working off duty at the theater noticed Kibler's level of intoxication. He asked them for directions to the bathroom around 8:45 PM.
Man Asks Police Where The Bathroom Is Twice
Officers claim he was glassy-eyed with slurred speech, flushed cheeks, and smelled of alcohol. Around 10 PM Kibler once again asked officers for assistance finding the restroom.
The off-duty officers noticed he was unsteady on his feet and leaned against the water fountain to maintain his balance. After this second interaction, the officers questioned Kibler about his state of intoxication.
Their reasoning was that he would likely be leaving the theater soon and possibly get behind the wheel of a vehicle. Kibler then became uncooperative as officers attempted to detain him.

There was a struggle and Kibler was tased and taken into custody. It took both officers along with with the help of two unidentified citizens to restrain Kibler during the incident.
He was then taken to a local hospital to have the taser barbs removed before being taken to jail.
