Southbound 59 Flyover in Lufkin Set for Night Time Closures

According to a press release from the Texas Department of Transportation, work is scheduled on the US 59 southbound direct connector that will require its closure Tuesday night (4/30) and possibly several more nights until work is complete.

Bridge maintenance is scheduled to begin on the direct connector about 9 pm and continue until 6 am. Depending on needed maintenance and weather conditions, the work could continue up to three additional nights.

Motorists will be required to take the South First Street exit ramp to access US 59 South or choose alternate routes. This will be an active work zone and drivers are urged to remain alert to the detour and changing traffic patterns.
