Veterans Day

The annual event will be taking place at Abe Martin Stadium on November 7.

Today is a chance to thank those women and men who have stepped up to serve. Granted, we should be thanking them everyday, but this is the national day when all of America takes the time to show gratitude.

This weekend, there's a really cool event coming to the venue downtown, and it's to honor our veterans.

If you're a military veteran, it's all about you this weekend, and rightfully so. With Veteran's Day on Sunday, several East Texas restaurants are planning to offer freebies and deals to say thanks.

When it comes to taking care of our veterans in our country some places are better than others.

Maybe you've seen a few green lights around East Texas this week.  At work, on the front porch, and on college campuses, people are replacing white lights with green bulbs to show support for veterans.  And it's easy to become part of the movement.

Today is a special day. It's the day we take time to recognize, honor and thank our nation's military service members. In truth, it should really be Veterans Day 365/24/7, but then you already knew this!

Tomorrow is Veterans Day... the day we set aside each year to honor the service of all U.S. military veterans, when truthfully, it should be every single day of the year.
