One of the greatest East Texas traditions that salutes our local veterans and active members of the U.S. Armed Forces is scheduled to take place this Saturday, November 7 at 7:00 p.m. at Abe Martin Stadium in Lufkin.  The Lufkin ISD band program is once again proud to present Honor America Night. This year’s event will include performances by all grade levels of the Lufkin Middle School band, as well as music and marching from the Lufkin High School band.

Honor America Night serves as opportunity to recognize all branches of the armed forces, recognize veterans and their families, and to place a spotlight on the story of one specially honored veteran.  The program will also conclude with a spectacular fireworks display.

“Honor America Night is our way of recognizing and thanking our veterans for their service to our country,” Band Director George Little said. “Our students love to perform at the event and we are happy to honor our veterans.”

The event begins at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $5 and are available from any Lufkin Middle School or Lufkin High School band student. Tickets will also be available on the day of the performance at the gate of Abe Martin Stadium beginning at 6:00 p.m. Masks will be required and social distancing enforced.

It looks like the weather for Saturday's event should be just about perfect with clear skies and temperatures in the mid 60s.  Anyone with questions concerning this year's Honor America Night is welcome to call the Lufkin High School band office at 936-630-4353.
