According to Point2Homes Texas, with its strong job market, is the place to invest in build-to-rent homes. There are 21,812 homes in the pipeline in Texas to fill that need.

This many homes coming up for rent will change the market in Texas. This will be a  70% increase in total inventory for the state.

These new homes will be out in the suburbs. Builders are gambling that renters want to move out of the inner city and into the next phase of their lives without worrying about the hassles of home ownership.

These Four Texas Towns Have The Most Units Coming

Phoenix, AX has 13,113 homes in the pipeline, which is more units than any town in the country. Texas has the most of any state, but it is more evenly spread between Dallas (8,470), Houston (4,613), Austin, (4,313), and San Antonio (2,994).

High mortgage rates have led to this trend of renting even longer in the Lone Star State. Even at lower interest numbers, homeowners could pay double or triple the home's initial value before it's paid off.
