In order to speed up the pace at which new pharmacists, pharmacy techs, and pharmacy technician trainees could take their places in understaffed pharmacies across the state, Texas has decided to waive a huge portion of the usually time consuming regulation process.

For the hundreds (if not thousands) of almost-certified pharmacy workers waiting in the wings to dive in and help out during the Coronavirus pandemic, this is great news.  It's also great news for overworked workers currently manning the battle stations at your local pharmacy.  According to Spectrum News, Texas Governor Gregg Abbott temporarily extended expiration dates for licenses and temporarily suspended continuing education requirements for pharmacists too.

This move will allow the newly minted pharmacy staff to enter the workforce immediately, and provide some much needed relief and rest to those who have been holding down the fort thus far.
