He played Ike Clanton in the movie 'Tombstone', he played Colonel Quaritch in 'Avatar', and the list of notable performances of screen and stage just goes on and on, and tonight (11/23), Stephen Lang brings a riveting show to Lufkin.

The Angelina Arts Alliance presents Stephen Lang at the Temple Theater in 'Beyond Glory'.  According to a write up from the Alliance's website Stephen Lang examines the lives of eight men who received the Medal of Honor for their bravery in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. During the 80-minute performance Lang portrays these heroes representing different ethnic groups, social strata, and regions in a stunning tour de force performance. Terry Teachout of The Wall Street Journal says, “Mr. Lang’s one-man play is no simple-minded piece of flag waving. It’s an unsparingly direct portrait of men at war, pushed into narrow corners, and faced with hard choices. It is also one of the richest, most complex pieces of acting I’ve seen in my theater-going life.”

Superstar producers James Cameron and Jon Landau were so impressed with Lang's performance and presentation that they agreed to executive produce a film version of 'Beyond Glory'.

Veterans, active duty soldiers, and anyone interested in military history should definitely attend this once in a lifetime event.  Due to mature language, adults only should attend.

Tickets are available for the show by contacting the Temple Theater Box Office.
