Two East Texas Schools in Tight Race to Win $1500 from Genco

I love an exciting finish to a race, and that's exactly what is going on right now between two East Texas schools.  In fact, these two schools competing against each other belong to the same school district.

This year, as in years past, Genco Federal Credit Union will give $1500 to two local schools, one in McLennan County and one in Angelina County, based on the number of “School Spirit” votes each school receives.

So far, the competition in Angelina county has narrowed in on two schools. Last year Diboll Junior High won the $1,500 cash with the most votes (pictured above) and this year they have been in the lead since the voting started back on September 14th.  However, with 3 short weeks left to vote, H G Temple Elementary has been closing in and has recently taken the lead. It’s going to be a tight race to the end to see who will win the cash!

You can watch the race to the $1,500 cash prize by visiting the “GENCO FCU” Facebook page with weekly leaderboards posted each Monday.  Anyone can vote as often as once a day and no purchase is necessary to vote, but the voting all ends on Friday, December 4^th.
