I couldn't go on vacation without Snapchatting the entire thing. This is what you missed if you didn't see my story.

Me niece Bailey and I hopped a flight to Seattle, picked up my other niece Savannah, and explored the hell out of the Pacific Northwest. We checked out parks in Olympia and Tacoma, and made a stop at Stadium High, the setting for the movie 10 Things I Hate About You. Bailey was doing a version of Heath Ledger's dance on the bleachers and someone stopped to ask her if that's actually what she was doing.   I'm sure it happens a lot.

Then we drove to Vancouver. We shopped at Granville Island, stayed at an AirBnb in Yaletown, checked out the touristy Gastown, and made a stop in Stanley Park. While we were there, we stocked up on Canadian candy (Smarties FTW) and had THE BEST poutine at a place called La Belle Patate.

When we were back in the US, we went to Volunteer Park for a photo with the Black Sun sculpture, which was the inspiration for Soundgarden's Black Hole Sun*. (RIP, Chris Cornell)

Then we spent a day exploring Pike Place, with me dragging my nieces to my favorite spots: the gum wall, Beecher's cheese shop, the original Starbucks (where a busker was singing the Canadian national anthem), and Russian pastry shop called Piroshky Piroshky.

Then we took a ride on the giant Ferris wheel, which made one of us sick, so we called it a day. And that was basically the end, other than some family time I didn't document. If you ever get a chance to go to the PNW, do it! And send back some Smarties for me, k?
