Everybody knows that iced tea - specifically sweet tea - is a southern delicacy. I don't know why it became that way, I just know that it did. And, I've got to say, I'm quite glad it did.

I don't know what it is, but during this time each year, as the temperatures really start to crank up, iced tea is something that - at least in my opinion - borders on necessity. You don't want a soda, and you want something more than water...what's the option?

Sweet iced tea.

Don't even try to convince me that I'm wrong. I'll have no part of that theory.

So, tomorrow is National Iced Tea Day. With everything else going on right now, this is a pretty small thing, but I still wanted to make you aware of it. I don't know if anyone in our area is running specials on iced tea, whether it's at the grocery store or the restaurants, but it couldn't hurt to ask, right?

So tomorrow, find you a nice shady spot, your favorite glass/mug/mason jar/whatever, and celebrate National Iced Tea Day. But please, try to get sweet tea...I'd hate to see you celebrate this big day with just regular iced tea. That doesn't sound very promising at all!
