As the holiday season approaches, something magical happens yearly in downtown Lufkin. Workers have already started the transformation.

They are hanging lights all around the downtown area and erecting Rudolph the Red-Nose Pumping Unit, presented by Lufkin Industries. You can be there when all this hard work pays off and they light up Rudolph.

The holiday season doesn't officially start in Lufkin until Rudolph is up in the clouds prancing under his own power. See it happen in person as entertainment begins at 5 PM on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 222 East Shepherd Street in Downtown Lufkin.

Lighting Ceremony Starts The Holidays In Lufkin

Some local businesses or organizations will be a part of this holiday tradition. This is a free event, with nothing to buy, but they will pass out treats.

Festively decorated booths and holiday-themed items will be handed out. The lighting ceremony, presented by Lufkin Industries, starts at 5:30 PM.

Get downtown Friday after school and be a part of everything that is going on. The hope is that you stay downtown and shop locally for Christmas.
