Six of the 19 arrests were of females. Their felony charges range from driving while intoxicated with a minor to engaging in organized criminal activity in Lufkin, Texas.

Three Arrested For Engaging In Organized Criminal Activity

According to the Texas Penal Code, organized crime is defined as three or more persons collaborating in criminal activities together. These laws were made to stop criminal street gangs, but now are more widely used.

The charge increases the severity of the penalties for many crimes since they were a member of a criminal group or gang when it was committed. They based the seriousness of the charge on the worst crime committed during the collaboration.

This elevates any of the charges that they receive, much like the difference between murder and pre-meditated murder.

More Than One Assault On A Public Servant

There was also more than one assault on a public servant or officer. One inmate was charged for allegedly trying to take the officer's weapon during an assault.
