  • Create artwork to be enjoyed during Springfest.
  • Lufkin Parks And Recreation Is Looking For Artists.
  • Large-scale street paintings with chalk.

Springfest is coming to downtown Lufkin on Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 10 AM to 2 PM. There will be a lot to do and see for everyone in the entire family.

Lufkin Parks and Recreation has issued a call to all chalk artists to help add to the festivities. They are looking for artists that can create large-scale street art for the event with chalk.

This is a well-attended event and many people will see these works of art. Chalk art is one of my favorites, with its vibrant colors and intricate designs.

This will be a main feature at this year's Mobile Art Park. You will be creating on East Shepard Ave and 2nd Street.

Create Art For All To See At This Year's Lufkin Springfest

There are three divisions - children ages 6-12, a junior division for ages 13 - 18, and an adult division for 18 and up. This will be done for the pure joy of creating, and it will not be a judged event.

They will only be accepting 3 applications per age division, and all submissions are on a first-come first served basis. It's all about creating in a public space and spontaneously making art.

The Lufkin Parks and Recreation Department will be providing chalk and painter's tape for the artists. All applications must be completed by April 17th.

If you want to create an eye-catching piece to be enjoyed by everyone at Springfest, but need even more details contact the Lufkin Parks and Recreation Department by calling 936-633-03520. They will give you more complete information about their needs for the chalk art application.
