Right here in our area, we have two of the best-looking lakes in the state, and I'd even go so far as to say the best-looking in the nation.

But which one is THE best?

On one hand, we've got Lake Sam Rayburn. The lake that is fed by the Angelina River, and is overseen by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. This is also where the very first Big Bass Splash took place, almost 40 years ago. This was the lake that I learned to ski, tube, and swim in. So, it's got a lot of sentimental value for me, personally.

On the other hand, there's Toledo Bend Lake. This is the lake that we Texans share with Louisiana. It's fed by the Sabine River, and it's overseen by the Sabine River Authority. While I don't have as much sentimental value with this lake, I actually worked for the Sabine River Authority when I was in high school, so I do have some ties to Toledo Bend as well.

So, there's a little bit of info on both lakes in our area. Now it's up to you guys. I personally don't have one favorite. I know, it sounds like a cop-out, but I've got different ties to both, and both of them hold meaning to me.

Let us know in the comments below which lake is the best.
