Family Crisis Center of East Texas WINS New Mini-Van
The results are in! It was just announced that the Family Crisis Center of East Texas is the “Day 73” WINNER in the Toyota 100 Cars for Good program. 100 Cars for Good is a major philanthropic initiative in which the automaker is giving 100 cars to 100 nonprofits over the course of 100 days.
The Family Crisis Center was up for consideration yesterday and competed against four other nonprofit organizations for the most votes at www.100carsforgood.com. Individual members of the public were able to vote for which ever nonprofit they thought could do the most good with a new vehicle.
The Family Crisis Center of East Texas will use the vehicle to assist victims as they work toward a self-sufficient life free from violence. The agency has requested a Toyota Sienna Mobility van like the one pictured above. The addition of this handicapped-accessible van will make transporting clients with disabilities much easier and more importantly, much safer.
“Everyone here at the Family Crisis Center of East Texas is thrilled that we have been selected as one of the recipients of a new Toyota vehicle,” said Heather Kartye, Executive Director of the Family Crisis Center of East Texas. “The outpouring of support from the community during this process has been overwhelming.”
A reception is planned for when the vehicle is delivered. More details on the reception will be announced at a later date.
