Get Fresh Organic Locally Grown Produce In Lufkin, Texas
There are so many benefits from eating locally grown produce. Fruits and vegetables begin to lose nutrients within 24 hours of being picked.
Instead of being picked, processed, and loaded on trucks, locally grown produce is picked at its peak ripeness. If you are living in Lufkin and you want the freshest possible fruits and vegetables, you may have just found the place.
The Lufkin Urban Garden And Market is a project of the Legacy Institute For Financial Education. The same organization that started the Juzi Spot on Raguet, which has since closed. It is continuing its mission of providing healthy and affordable food choices.
Lufkin Urban Garden & Market Is Now Open
The Lufkin Urban Garden & Market serves as a community garden and a market in North Lufkin. Its mission is to improve the overall health of the community, create jobs and volunteer opportunities, and increase community involvement and support.
They are hoping to be a place that addresses many of the social, economic, and environmental disparities that many members of the North Lufkin Community face.
They are already well on their way to making that happen and are already enjoying the fruits of their labor. The garden is producing beautiful produce now, and they are enjoying a lot of support from the community.
