Here are a few ideas about events happening around Lufkin and Nacogdoches around Halloween, so you and the kids can plan accordingly. Don't miss out!

The last week of October is always a busy one for trick-or-treaters, and parents have to make choices about which organized events to attend; or mix some of those events in while also taking the kids house-to-house for candy in the neighborhood.

Ever wonder what the zoo animals think about Halloween? They're probably shocked to see all of those kids in costume, trying to look just like them. The Ellen Trout Zoo will have its annual "Zoo Boo" on October 24th and 25th, and that means the zoo will have decorations up, and there will be games, trick-or-treating and a costume contest. Tickets, parking, and more information is available on our event page!

Mainstreet Lufkin is having it's "Downtown Trick or Treat Event" on October 31st in the afternoon, from 3:00 - 5:00 pm.  Kids can head downtown after school, dressed in costume, and several downtown businesses and organizations will be handing out goodies.  And there will be plenty of time for trick-or-treating back in your neighborhood after that.

The Nacogdoches Jaycees are having their annual Haunted House presented by Mike Love & Associates nightly from October 27 - 31 at the Nacogdoches County Expo Center. It opens at 7:00PM every night, and admission is $10 per person per entry.

The Lufkin Middle School presents the 2014 Lufkin Zombie Walk, October 25 at 6:00 PM! The event is free to attend, but come dressed up as a zombie!

Now is the time to go out and get the Ninja Turtle and Frozen costumes before they sell out, and get those dates in your smart phone calendar.  Halloween will be here before we know it.
