It's a Fourth of July tradition - get the family together, grill up some burgers & dogs, enjoy one of our local festivals or fairs, and then get on a picnic blanket and watch the fireworks that celebrate our country's freedom. Nacogdoches Freedom Fest

  • When: 5:00 - 9:30PM
  • Where: Nacogdoches Festival Plaza
  • How Much: Free!

Fireworks start 30 minutes after sunset. Coolers, blankets, and chairs are permitted, but no glass bottles or alcoholic beverages please!

The 3rd Annual Hot Dog Eating Contest will begin at 6:30, competitors may register the day of the event.

The 4th Annual Star-Spangled Pitch-Off Washer Tourney will also take place at 6:00 PM. The entry fee is $20.

Other viewing areas include: University Mall, Williamsburg Plaza, Downtown Square, Nacogdoches County Courthouse, Coy Simms Softball Park, Brookshire Brothers on South Street and the Hotel Fredonia.

Lufkin Fireworks at Ellen Trout Zoo

  • When: 1:00 - 9:15PM
  • Where: Ellen Trout Zoo
  • How Much: Free!

Fireworks will begin at sundown.

Please note, there will be no onsite parking. Shuttle buses will begin running at 4:30 PM from Lufkin High School to take guests too and from the Zoo.

Rides on the Z and O O railroad will begin at 1:00.

Live entertainment will begin onstage at 5:00.

Alabama-Coushatta Fireworks in Livingston

  • How Much: $5 parking fee

Enjoy music and dance performances all afternoon and evening before the fireworks display begins at 9:30.

Please note, this is a drug and alcohol free event. Lawnchairs are encouraged due to limited seating.
