If you are a particularly voracious reader, you will read anything. Buying new books when you can read one in a day or over a weekend, can get expensive.

I loved reading as a kid and remember not having any new books and occasionally just reading an encyclopedia. It gave me a thirst for knowledge, and after I got to Z, the dictionary was next.

Fill The Bag Book Sale Is Back In Lufkin

The Lufkin Kurth Memorial Library "Fill The Bag" book sale is coming up on Friday, October 11th & Saturday, October 12, 2024 from 10 AM until 5:20 PM.

Fill a big brown grocery bag with books for only $3. The Friends of the Kurth Memorial Library will provide the bag after you pay.

This will be different than their recent spring sale because this is all about quantity. The sale is not organized by category, so you will have to hunt for your favorites.

Dive Into The Boxes At The Kurth Memorial Library

According to the Lufkin Daily News interview with Michael Morgan, President of the Friends of The Kurth Memorial Library, a good "packer" can fit up to 30 books in one bag. That averages to around 20 cents per book.

This event will have more of a garage sale feel. Many of the books, among other media, came from donations.
