Just like they do every week, the Nacogdoches Police Department has chosen their Pet of the Week. This week's pet at the Humane Societ of Nacogdoches County is a cat! (See? They do feature animals other than dogs!)

The post below from the Nacogdoches Police Department Facebook Page introduces you to Duchess.

Duchess is a one-year-old Calico female. Apparently, she's a bit camera shy, but she's also playful, as you can see with her climbing all over Sergeant Ayres.

If you're interested in adopting Duchess - or any of the animals - you can contact the Humane Society of Nacogdoches County, or stop by in-person to the shelter at 3211 Southwest Stallings Drive in Nacogdoches. The adoption times at the shelter are from 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Also, if you're approved to adopt the Pet of the Week, you'll receive a voucher from the Humane Society that will cover all of the spay and neuter costs at our local animal clinics, plus the rabies vaccinations!

This is always a pretty cool thing to see come across our newsfeed each week. Keep an eye on the Nacogdoches Police Department Facebook page so that you get updates about the Pet of the Week, too! Who knows? They might feature just the pet that you're looking for!
