As a diplomat to France in the 1780s, Thomas Jefferson ate at the first restaurant in Paris. President Washington went to the same tavern so often that they regularly threw a ball in his honor, though he only attended the event twice.

According to Mashed.com if you want to eat President Lyndon B. Johnson's favorite meal, try Cooper's Old Time Pit Bar-B-Que in Llano, Texas. Don't let the fact that LBJ died of a heart attack in 1973 at the age of 65 deter you.

Many other notable presidents have eaten there including George Bush Sr. and Jr. The restaurant is featured in many lists of must-visit BBQ joints in Texas.

Coopers was started in 1962 in Llano and now boasts five locations. Terry and Karen Wootan currently own the family business.
