The stormy weather is gone and now we've got nothing but beautiful weather set and ready to go through the weekend here in the Pineywoods.  It's perfect timing, too, because this Thursday through Saturday the annual Nacogdoches Pro Rodeo and Steer Show is coming to the Nacogdoches Exposition Center.

Top-notch cowboys and cowgirls from the PRCA will be trying to earn a big paycheck while competing in such events as barrel racing, steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding, and the always popular bull riding.

One of the huge highlights at this year's rodeo will be trick rider Madison McDonald Thomas.  The highly decorated rider from Montana has over 23 years of experience as a trick rider performing across North America and even as far as Mexico and Canada. She's originally from Canada but now calls Helena her home. For the past 10 years, Madison has been selected as National Finals Rodeo Contract Act and has been nominated 4Xs as one of PRCA's Top 5 Dress Acts of the Year.

Madison is also a professional barrel racer and spends her time competing when not performing. She'll be coming to Nacogdoches from performing at a rodeo in Abilene.  In fact, she also competed in barrel racing at that rodeo.

Aside from rodeo events, Madison works as a stunt double for various productions such as Canadian TV Show Heartland. Take a look at her heart-stopping skills in the video below.

The Nacogdoches Rodeo will get underway each night around 7:30 p.m.  Try to arrive by 7 because that's when we'll kick off the nightly mutton bustin' competition.  Get your tickets for the rodeo here.

The Nacogdoches Pro Rodeo is proudly sponsored by Badders Law Firm, RV Outfitters of Texas, GG Distributing, KICKS 105, and  Mike Perry Dodge - RAM Rodeo.
