Nacogdoches County Felony Arrests July 26 – Aug 1
Felony arrests this week included two for sexual charges in Nacogdoches County. Otis Pleasant and Jeffrey Reeves were both booked on Tuesday, July 29, 2025.
According to KTRE, Otis Banark Pleasant, 36, from Chireno, was booked into jail to start serving a 70-year sentence without the possibility of parole. He was found guilty of child sex abuse.
He was booked on charges of the continuous sexual abuse of young children on Tuesday, and the sentence was handed down on Wednesday. This stems from a discovery by someone he was dating.
Otis Pleasant Found Guilty Of Abusing 2 Very Young Children
In December 2019, a family member of a victim was dating Pleasant and noticed that he appeared to be kissing her neck. Once the family checked on the victim, they broke out in tears and said he had been sexually assaulting her for almost a year.
She stated that she didn't tell anyone sooner because he threatened her with losing her family and never seeing them again. A second victum also came forward during the case, and both victims testified before a jury about how he had abused them.

To have both victims testify, and the length of the time of the abuse, is likely why they were able to get such a strong sentence from the jury.
